Desktop Loafs is an animated desktop pet app made by kopfkino LLC. Its animal companions wander, rest and interact with your desktop while you work. It is a small companion app, with optional activities and discoveries that unfold over time.

What do desktop pets do?

Choose a companion in the loaf room and drag it onto your desktop. Pick it up, move it to a window ledge, offer food or let it settle for a nap. Right-click a loaf for its activities. The tray menu lets you pause the app, reopen the loaf room or quit.

Meet the collection

• Pancake the hyrax: window hopping, snacks, dirt baths and long naps. Quiet discoveries grow with actual running time.
• African grey parrot: an exaggerated high-step walk, grooming, one-footed snacks and splashing in a bird bath.
• Axolotl: a mostly aquatic companion with swimming, rippling gills and a small pool.

Windows and Mac availability

The Windows collection is in preview for 64-bit Windows 10 and 11. The complete Mac app is still in development, with no announced release date. Public sales and downloads are not open yet. Check the download page for availability.

One purchase, every future loaf

The planned regular price is $2.99 USD, with a $1.50 introductory price at launch. A direct purchase will include Windows, Mac when released and all future loafs. There is no subscription or separate pet pack charge. A direct purchase does not include a Steam key. See purchase information.

You choose the company

Pause the companions or bring them back to the loaf room whenever you need your screen clear. The parrot’s clipboard phrases are optional and off by default. Its music reaction uses system playback activity, not your microphone. The website demo does not access your clipboard or microphone.
